When is Eid Ul Adha?

Eid Ul Adha starts on the 10th day of Dhu Ul Hijjah, the 12th and final month in the Islamic chart and whose name means ‘month of the pilgrimage’.

This is because it’s the month when Muslims from around the world usually go to Mecca – it’s a religious duty they must carry out at least once in their life.

What does Eid Ul Adha celebrate?

Eid al-Adha marks the date when Allah appear to Ibrahim in a vision and ask him to sacrifice his son, Ishmael, to show his devotion. Ibrahim was about to go ahead with the give up when Allah stop him and gave him a lamb to slaughter instead.
